Tip # 7 Onions for Bruises?

What a weird thing....but it works. If you get an unsightly bruise, tape an onion slice to the bruise. It helps to absorb the bruise and help it disappear faster.....try it.

Tip # 6 - The Wonders of Onions and Garlic

Isn't it wonderful that such yummy stuff is so good for you!

Both onions and garlic are very good for your immune system. There are so many ways you can use them too. Always use fresh garlic and onions. Powdered flavoring, or powdered food has lost so much of its goodness, it just doesn't work. So, having said that, eat lots of garlic and onions, and make sure the people you care about eat a lot too.

I have lots of great recipes. One is for the best blue cheese salad dressing you ever had.(if you like garlic that is)

What you need:

  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 TBS of virgin olive oil
  • 1 TBS of balsamic vinegar
  • Blue cheese
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Salad bowel (wooden is best )
  • Rub a clove or two of garlic in the bottom of the salad bowl. Pour in 3 TBS of olive oil, and the 1 TBS of balsamic vinegar, crumble up some blue cheese, salt and pepper to taste.

(This can knock your socks off, so beware, and if you plan on kissing someone... make sure they eat some too)

Health Tip # 5 - More Old Tyme Remedies (for foot fungus)

As we live, many of us suffer from the irritating issue of foot fungus. This can be a pesky, irritating, and sometime debilitating dilema, and there are many products out there that "claim" they will get rid of your "foot rot". The problem with these particular products is, they can be toxic to your system. Personally, I would much rather have a rotting foot, than a dysfunctional liver or other vital organ. You have to remember, your skin is the largest organ on your body, anything that comes in contact with your skin is absorbed into your body, and then the poor thing has to figure out what to do with it. All this extra work can cause dis-ease (disease).

Anyway, back to what I am getting at. Here are two ways to help clear up foot fungus that are inexpensive, and NOT caustic to your body.

Vinegar foot soak

What you need :

  • your feet
  • apple cider vinegar
  • water tight container (----I recommend a plastic shoe box you can get just about anywhere)
  • towel
  • every remote, phone, book, magazine, knitting, or whatever you can think of to do for 2 hours
  • time (------this is time consuming, 2 hours!!!)

What to do

    Find the most comfortable chair in the house, put your towel down on the floor, put the container on the towel, put the apple cider vinegar in the container so your foot will be completely immersed.

    Gather all of your "things" phones, remotes, books etc, sit down, and soak your foot for 2 hours.

    When you are done, let your foot air dry completely, then, go about your day/night. Do this 3 times a week for as long as it takes.

Hydrogen Peroxide Spritz

What you need:

  • spray bottle
  • 3 %Hydrogen Peroxide
  • water
  • Your foot

What to do:

    Spray a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

Pretty simple huh?

Health Tip # 4 - Tennis Ball Massage Therapy

For those of us that are on our feet all day long *sigh*, here is a wonderful way to give yourself a fabulous foot massage. Your feet are the most abused part of your body. We often cram them in shoes that dont fit, that have no support, and are oddly shaped. They deserve some tender loving care.You will be amazed at how your whole body is affected by such a simple technique anyone can do.

What you need

tennis ball

your feet <--------- this is easier with socks on

What you do

place a tennis ball on the ground, put your foot on it, and roll the ball under your foot, putting on slight pressure in the begining, then increase as you massage those knots out. Do this for at least one minute on each foot. Do this in a standing position. If you cant, that is ok, you can work your self up to that. The benefits of standing are you acheive better balance and you work your core muscles, and You can thank me later ;>)

 

Health Tip # 3 - (From Show #4) - Cold Treatment

For the fall and winter sniffle blues, Old Tyme remedy comes through again. For those days when your head feels like there is a baseball between your eyes .....congestion, runny nose, cant breathe ....sniffles, sinus pain......

Often we get so caught up in technology and the newest most improved over the counter drug, we forget about proven, old time remedies that really do work, and there are no worries about "unfortunate side effects"

This is one of my favorites, and it is so easy. This is relaxing, and very good for you in many different ways.

  • What you need
  • Oil of Eucalyptus
  • Bowl or pot that can withstand HOT water
  • Towel
  • Your head

Bring water to a boil, pour it into the bowl or pot. Put a few or several ( I recommend a few to begin with) drops of Oil of Eucalyptus in the hot steamy water. Put your head above the steaming bowl or pot, pull the towel over your head, and breathe deeply through your nose. If it gets too hot or "intense", just flap the towel a few times to get some outside air in.

You will feel relief instantly.

Health Tip # 2 - (from Show # 3) - Hugs for Health

Studies show that humans need physical stimulation. Babies who are not held are generally weaker, some even die. We need human contact. This weeks health tip is to give some one a hug. Make it a real hug too, really think good thoughts about the person that you are hugging. You will be amazed at how good you will feel afterwards.

Life is fragile, don't forget to tell your loved ones that you love them.

Health Tip # 1 - (As heard on Show #2) - Good Health Tonic

Morning Tonic for Good Health - Squeeze the juice of one lemon into your favorite shot glass. Then add Cayenne pepper (anywhere from and a dash to 1/2 teaspoon).  This helps your liver.

Don't forget, start out slow, just a pinch of pepper to start*

The liver is like a mass filter system to your body. Your blood goes through it, and there it is cleaned and sent out to your body to feed and nourish. Now I am going to be sexist here, but, it might help visualization. For for women, imagine a filter in the vacuum, for men, imagine the filter in your car ....I cant cuz I am a girl, but anyway, they need to be changed ...I have no idea how often, but I am sure it is more often than say, once every several years. ....like I do....... anyway, when you have a clean filter, your car/vacuum runs more smoothly and efficiently. That is what our liver does, it filters out all the junk we are eating, breathing, drinking, and creating in our stressful, toxic lives. We as humans haven't found a very effective way to remove our livers and replace them, so, cleaning it out is about the best we can do. This concoction is quite effective, it FLUSHES the liver more than cleans it ....you can do it often, 3-4 times a week, for a month or so, then maintenance once a week.

Don't forget, a FRESH LEMON, not a plastic one
